Exam Overview
IELTS is a paper-based or computer-delivered test that assesses your ability to communicate in English across four skills: Listening,
Reading, Writing, and Speaking. It is widely
accepted by universities and colleges worldwide for study abroad, immigration, and professional registration purposes.
Exam Pattern
1. Listening

Section 1 Conversation between two people

Section 2 Monologue

Section 3 Conversation between up to four people

2. Reading

Section 1 2-3 texts

Section 2 2 short texts

Section 3 1 long text
3. Writing

Task 1 Describe a graph, table, chart, or diagram (at least 150 words).

Task 2 Write an essay in response to a question (at least 250 words).
4. Speaking

Part 1 Introduction and general questions.

Part 2 1-2 minute talk on a given topic.

Part 3 Discussion on the topic from Part 2.
Scoring Method
IELTS scores range from 0 to 9, with 0.5 increments. Scores are reported for each skill, and an overall band score is calculated.
